Aside from the office manager position, the Intergroup office and bookstore is staffed by A.A. volunteers that work in three-hour shifts on weekdays to answer phones, welcome visitors and make bookstore sales. This is how you can help:
Daytime Volunteer
Duties/Responsibilities: Answers the AA Hotline at the Intergroup office and helps bookstore with sales during a three-hour shift, once a week. Training is provided. Fill out our Volunteer Form.
Qualifications: 2 years of sobriety
Term: open term with a minimum of 1 year
12 Step Volunteer
Duties/Responsibilities: Contacts callers in need, by phone, to explain what AA is about, sometimes taking them to a meeting, or getting them in touch with someone who can help them. Fill out our Volunteer Form.
Qualifications: 1 year of sobriety
Term: open term with a minimum of 1 year

If someone you know is unable to attend AA Meetings due to a disability, and would like either a ride to a meeting or meetings brought to their home, please contact Bill S. at 941-276-1561 or email N9WS@comcast.net.
Nighttime Volunteer
Duties/Responsibilities: Covers the AA Hotline overnight from 6pm-9am to help alcoholics in crisis and directs them to further help if possible. Fill out our Volunteer Form.
Qualifications: 1 year of sobriety
Term: open term with a minimum of 1 year.
Events Volunteer
Duties/Responsibilities: Helps the Events Committee to plan, organize, and participates in any events sponsored by Intergroup. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to bring their ideas and creativity to the Committee meetings every 2nd Thursday of the month at 6pm in person and online. Qualifications: there are no sobriety requirements – everyone is welcome!
Term: as long as you want!
Note: During events sponsored by Intergroup, an ASL interpreter is usually available. If you are qualified or if you know someone who is, we can always use volunteers. Click here for flyer.
